Our Digital Hub for Real-World Creative Collaboration, Designed to bring musical artists, creatives, freelancers & creative professionals together

The creative industries are built on collaboration—but too often, online platforms make that harder than it should be.

Between distractions, overbuilt features, and algorithm-driven content, it can feel like these spaces are designed more for visibility than connection—especially if you’re not already established. For many creatives, the experience feels overwhelming, performative, or not built with them in mind.

The Residents Desk is being built to offer something different.

A Silicon Valley–free zone, it’s a digital space grounded in real creative work—not hype. A place where artists, freelancers, and industry professionals can share ideas, connect around shared goals, and access tools that support the process. Whether you’re just getting started or deep into a project, the Residents Desk is here to help you find the right people, build meaningful relationships, and keep moving forward.

We know creative industries can feel closed off or hard to access—especially if you’re outside significant cities or disconnected from traditional networks. That’s why the Residents Desk is designed to remove some of the usual barriers like geography, gatekeeping, and endless noise. In their place, we’re building something more open, collaborative, and aligned with how creative people work.

The platform is shaped by lived experience. Inspired by communities like the sadly defunct Buildspace, the adaptability of Notion, and the professional intent of LinkedIn, Residents Desk brings together tools, spaces, and opportunities—all without algorithms, follower counts, or the need to constantly self-promote.

What Makes Residents Desk Different?

  • Built-in project management and event tools, alongside curated directories, to make it easier to connect with the right people when you need them

  • A space created with collaboration in mind—connecting artists, freelancers, and professionals across Australia’s creative sectors

  • Practical inspiration drawn from the sadly defunct Buildspace and Notion—with a strong focus on usability

  • Developed for creative work—not performance—where skills, ideas, and shared projects take priority

  • No follower counts, algorithm-driven feeds, or endless scrolling—just a place to focus and connect.

Created in Australia by a small team of creatives who understand the challenges firsthand, Residents Desk isn’t trying to be the next big thing—it’s just trying to be helpful. It’s about access, clarity, and building something that helps real people progress together.

If that sounds like something you’ve been missing, the Residents Desk might be for you.

Launching June/July 2025.
