Where Creativity & Connection Converge

A program for connection, collaboration & innovation

“Collective mental energy is what creates modern power” - Dan Koe

We’re building an ongoing, co-curricular dojo and social space for emerging and established creatives—a place that sparks real connections, inspires fresh ideas and supports a creative community grounded in collaboration and care. Designed for artists, musicians, freelancers, innovative businesses, and professionals across the spectrum, our spaces—studios, galleries, and creative hubs—are welcoming, inclusive, and built to encourage experimentation, originality, and sustainable growth in the arts.

Through thoughtfully curated events, workshops, and collaborative initiatives, we offer platforms to share work, build meaningful partnerships, and explore new ways of creating together. This is about more than projects—it’s about connection. At a time when social isolation is on the rise, we see creativity as a powerful force for belonging and wellbeing and shaping Australia’s cultural future.

We’re starting locally—across the Northern Rivers and Southeast Queensland—working closely with communities to build something meaningful from the ground up. As things grow, we aim to connect with creative scenes in Sydney, Melbourne, and beyond—linking perspectives and co-creating a more inclusive, collaborative, and resilient future for the arts.

The Creative Residency 2025 brings this vision to life. It’s a year-long initiative connecting people across music, arts, and creative sectors through workshops, group projects, live events, and social gatherings.

It’s for creatives who want something deeper: spaces to learn, experiment, connect, and feel supported in what they do. Everything we run is shaped by values that matter—inclusion, sustainability, and creating room for both emerging talent and established voices to thrive.

This isn’t just another industry event. The Creative Residency blends valuable insight with hands-on exploration, relaxed conversation, and creative momentum. Whether at the start of your journey or deep in your craft, there’s space here for what you’re building.

What sets the Creative Residency apart is that the people in it shape it. The program shifts and evolves based on the community’s ideas, needs, and input. You can pitch a project, suggest a theme, invite collaborators, or join and participate.

Working in a generative environment where something will present itself, you'll feel something and instinct will kick in - Zane Lowe.

In Focus (Main Events)

Talks and performances spark ideas and dig into what creatives care about—like funding your work, telling better stories, adapting to tech, and building a future as an artist. You’ll hear from people doing interesting work and leave with something useful.

Creative Collaboration Sessions (Tuesdays & Sundays)

Hands-on workshops and creative sprints where you can try new tools, team up on something fun (or weird), and explore new directions in your work. These sessions are about experimenting and learning through doing—without pressure to be perfect.

Creative Socials

These are chill, low-key events that make it easy to meet people and swap ideas. Think open studios, casual meetups, creative showcases, and artist talks. There are no awkward small talk or networking vibes—just good conversation and real connections.

Creative Co-Working Sessions & Events

If working solo feels flat, these sessions help you plug into a shared creative rhythm. Whether writing, designing, editing, or sketching, these gatherings offer a space to focus alongside others, spark motivation, and get into the flow.

The Creative Residency Program is meant to grow with you.

From April onward, the program evolves based on what you and the community shape together. It’s flexible, collaborative, and made to reflect what’s happening in the creative world.

Whether you’re looking for momentum, community, new skills, or just a space where you feel like you belong—the Creative Residency is here for that.

“A lot of times, people are afraid of collaborating because they think it’s giving away too much of themselves. But when it works, it’s like two people become a third thing.” -Björk
